Prologue:
There was an evil guy... evil in waking life, but
not seen as evil in the dream until the very end.
He reminded me of a vampire, but he wasn't one.
He killed and tortured people and acted pretty
much like one of those cool and calm killers.
Think of a young goth Hannibal Lector... only, he
didn't eat his victims. He lived underground in a
secret cavern under a building that looked a lot
like a church... though, I'm not completely sure
if it was or not.I entered the dream as
someone who had befriended the evil guy... and he
taught me some of his secrets. One of his secrets
[influenced by the newer Spiderman game for Xbox,
which had just been released] was that, if you
ducked into a shadow [any shadow, as long as you
were completely in it] you became invisible...
but, more than that... you had to concentrate and
completely clear your mind to do it... and then,
not only would you be invisible... but you would
become transparent. So, when someone tried to
open a drawer behind me, it [and they] passed
right through me.
At one part of the dream, we went down to his
lair where there was a small underground lake.
You could see all the way to the bottom [which
was supposedly miles deep though it didn't look
like it] and it was a couple hundred yards wide.
The cavern itself was very dark but, as you
looked into the lake, it was as if you were
looking down from a plane on a sunny desert
landscape. It was bright and yellow and... like
an entire different world... only... covered with
water.
He had people chained in the cavern...
prisoners. He'd take one, stick them on a
machine, a blade would swipe them crookedly in
half [from just above the left elbow to the
bottom of the right ribs]. Sometimes he'd use a
long sword instead... it kept switching. The
person would still be alive as he'd throw the
torso into the water to drown.
I watched him kill two or three people when
suddenly the dream jumped and I had been sliced
in two. I was in shock as he threw me into the
water. I grabbed a deep breath as I went under...
and I remember the people above telling me to
just breathe the water and it would all be over.
Somehow the current got under me and pushed me up
against the wall and I gasped for air as my face
breached the surface... and then I was sinking
again. With no arms or legs, I knew I would die
soon and, as I sank and the surface became
farther and farther away... and my air began to
run out... I knew it was the end. I breathed in a
deep lung full of water... and another... and the
world started to black out... I was dying.
Then, everything cleared. There was no
sound... no movement. My eyes were open but all I
could see was a solid black. Suddenly, a screen
turned on... like I was seeing a futuristic
computer system start-up in my head. Someone was
selecting different menus and running different
programs and all I could do was remain there,
unable to move or speak.
...and then I woke up.
