Resa: In high school, I became best friends with a girl named LB. She was a prolific writer and urged me to create my own character to interact with her own... and thus, Resa [along with my desire to write] was born. Resa has gone through many changes over the years. Originally, she was simply a lone traveller with a mysterious background. Later, she became a werewolf and, later still, became a "dratar" ...a half-dragon created through tortureous experiments. At the time of this dream, she was beginning to have more wolf-like attributes, but was still mostly human.

DS9: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine... one of my many obsessions in high school.

Kira: Second in command on DS9.

Odo: A shape-shifter and the constable on the space station.

Dr. Bashir: The ranking station doctor.

Ghost Ship
06-21-1995
I, as Resa, was on DS9 as part of a landing party. A large, lifeless ship had arrived through the wormhole and we were going to check it out. So far, our group consisted of Kira, Odo, and myself... we needed one more. As we reached the Promenade, we looked up and saw Bashir leaning against the railing watching us. Kira asked, "Are you coming?" He nodded once.

The dream jumped and we found ourselves on the ship. There was an odd feeling about the place and a strange smell lingered in the air. We had beamed in just outside the doorway to a semi-large room. Walking slowly, we investigated the room. Inside, there were large box-shaped things that came up to our shoulders. On each side was a black monitor. The walls were also covered with different sized monitors... all silent and black.

Each time I passed one of the viewers, I felt weaker... as though they were sapping my energy. One caught my attention and I stopped to stare into it. The shadow of a young boy moved inside the monitor and disappeared. I put my hand up to the glass and it went through. I quickly tried to withdraw my hand, but something held onto it. After some struggle, I was finally able to pull it out. I called out to Kira, who happened to be the closest, and reported what had just happened. She and Odo approached to investigate while Bashir and I returned to the doorway to wait.

After a while, Kira called out for me. I left Bashir and, after talking to Kira and Odo, walked back toward the doorway. As I passed the monitors, I began to feel sick... pains everywhere. I leaned against one of the boxes and gasped for air. As I touched the box, it felt as though my head had exploded and I dropped to the ground in pain. Everything was flashing and I couldn't see anything around me. I called out to Bashir for help. Running over, he opened his medical tricorder and checked my vitals... pulse racing... shock... pain.... I tried to get up and, as he attempted to keep me still, I explained I needed to get away from the boxes and back to safety of the hallway.

Kira and Odo returned as we made it out of the room. They had found something and insisted we needed to leave the ship as quickly as possible. The shadow of the boy flashed by again. Kira tapped her comm badge to request a beam out.

I was beamed onto a bio bed and Bashir quickly approached as warning lights appeared on the scanners.

Blackout.

I found myself back on the ship, as a combination of Resa and myself. This time, it wasn't empty. I was in their habitat section, which was designed almost like a dorm... and I was a high school senior. I don't remember much except that I walked around the hallways and noticed someone's door was open. I looked in and saw a girl arguing with a guy... trying her best to kick him out. The guy noticed me as I walked into the room. Angry at my interference, he tried to punch me... but I caught the punch. Glaring, I said, "That was really dumb, wasn't it?" I don't remember his reply, but he ran from the room... afraid.

Blackout.

Hours had passed and, for some reason, I had to get out of the habitat section in a hurry. Alarms were sounding and everyone was rushing for the exits. There was no way I could make it down the stairs... as they were packed with so many people trying to escape the section. There was no elevator.

The stairwell was surrounded by a protective metal cage, which ran from the top floor all the way to the ground. I jumped onto the cage from one of the landings and began to climb down to safety as fast as I could... mostly sliding and holding on to make sure I wouldn't fall out of control. Suddenly, someone [sounding a lot like Bashir] called my name from above. I looked up, but couldn't see a face. They told me to climb up quickly. I don't know why, but I suddenly sensed danger below... as though everyone fleeing in that direction would be killed. I began to climb up as fast as I could... not using my legs, just my arms. About half way up, I was starting to get tired.

End.
