| My
family was driving to the comic book mall again.
It was a long drive and, for some reason, we had
the blue Suburban. [We haven't had that truck in
years.] I kept noticing that my two lower- middle
teeth were really loose and then, all of a
sudden, they came out. I kept thinking, "Great,
I'm loosing my teeth again...." because
I've had a lot of dreams where I loose my teeth.
During the trip, lost the rest of the teeth on
the upper- left side and handed them to my
mother. I explained that I'd already lost all my
back teeth a while ago. She held onto them,
obviously worried. I explained that one day they
simply become extremely loose and fall out.
There's nothing that I can do to stop the
process. Blackout.
My mother and I were at a
dentist. The doctor had just taken x-rays of my
mouth and was looking them over. He told us that
the reason I kept loosing my teeth was because I
had some strange condition in which I was
continually growing teeth... so, of course, the
older ones would fall out as the new ones pushed
their way in.
Blackout.
The nurse at the office heard
we were heading for the comic book mall and asked
if she could catch a ride there. For some reason,
we told her there was no room in the truck for
her. She said she didn't mind and grabbed onto
the back of the truck and held on... we dragged
her all the way there. When I'd glance back at
her I, at first, thought she had rollerblades
on... but then I realized she was only wearing
tennis shoes and was scooting over the gravel...
as if she was water-skiing. It was weird.
Blackout.
We finally arrived at the mall
and got out of the truck. We decided to split up
and meet back at the truck at a certain time. I
started looking for the comics I needed to finish
the series I already had or for any that looked
interesting. The mall was smaller than the last
time I dreamt about it, in fact, there were only
a couple dark stores and many of the others were
completely empty. Everything was dark because
most of the lights weren't on... and, those that
were, flickered on and off as if they would burn
out at any moment.
I found a Spiderman issue that
looked interesting so I picked it up. Someone
tried to grab it from me and I growled at them...
they wisely let go. All through these scenes I
would rub my tongue over where my teeth used to
be and I could feel the tips of new teeth... and
they were sharp.
Blackout.
At the end, I found all of two
comics I liked but realized, as I was walking for
the door, that I had no money. Everyone was
waiting by the truck and it was just beginning to
get dark outside. My brother and I were walking
towards the front door and I decided I'd just
steal the comics. Just as we reached the
checkouts at the doors, I turned back around, ran
to an empty table, plopped the comics down, and
then ran back... explaining that I had forgotten
I didn't have my wallet. We walked out the door
and rejoined our group at the truck.
End.
